Invite National CYO Sports to Train your Coaches and Athletic Directors

The Organization of a Mission

This workshop is designed for diocesan, league, or parish athletic ministry leadership. Participants will reflect on the purpose and goals of Catholic Youth Sports programs and audit their organizational structure, mission statement, and meeting planning. Do our actions further our goals? This workshop is structured to be highly interactive and contains practical resources.

Coaches as the Face of God

Discover the unique and exciting opportunities that athletics present for adults to be messengers of Christ's message. Teachable moments are presented to us daily, and we often miss the chance to bring God's peace to our young student athletes and their families. During this workshop coaches will reflect on the gifts that they already possess, and the opportunities they have to be more then just a good X's and O's coach.

Volleyball girlConnecting Sports and Spirituality—Sometimes We Need More "CARBS"

This presentation will show how spirituality has always been a art of sports and explains how it is possible to integrate personal spirituality with sports. Concrete ways to identifying the necessary "CARBS" in your athletic program serves to demonstrate the relation of sport and spirituality.

What is Catholic about CYO Sports?

As a coach and administrator, how do you shape a team that reflects the tenets of our Catholic faith? This interactive workshop works to demonstrate the value and significance of maintaining the life-giving and meaningful "C" in CYO athletic programs.

Coaching through the Lens of Parish Youth Ministry

Effective coaching in all youth sports programs works to build the positive character of the young athlete. This workshops provides an opportunity to reflect as to how this character development can be translated into faith and spiritual development of the adult coach and youth athlete. The components of effective parish youth ministry serve as the lens of this effort.

Risk Management Workshop

Catholic youth sports involves thousands of youth and coaches in a wide variety of settings that include the risk of injury or harm. Strategic and practical planning protects everyone's best interests and limits the expensive risk of legal liability. Consider ways to plan and prepare your athletic programs regarding permission forms, medical needs, site safety and supervision and much more.
