On Line Coaches’ Education Courses

The American Sports Education Program (ASEP) offers excellent on-line courses in coaching and sports skills. Of interest to athletic directors is a course Directing Youth Sports Programs with skills for athletic directors. Of interest to coaches are courses including Coaching Youth Basketball, Coaching Youth Volleyball, Coaching Youth Softball, Coaching Youth Soccer and other courses.

In conjunction with National CYO Sports, a coaching basics course is being developed incorporating Catholic coaching principals. Click on the image above to open the NCYOS portal page on ASEP's website and preregister for these learning experiences.

Parent-Coach Meetings

It is vital that a positive philosophy of Christian athletics is communicated to parents as well as coaches. The organizations listed above have programs for parents as well. A sample parent-coach meeting format, courtesy of the Diocese of Oakland, is included here.
